Crowley Named CWPA Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Brown women's water polo freshman Shannon Crowley (Orange County, Calif.) kicked off her college career with a pair of honors from the Collegiate Water Polo Association, taking home Co-Rookie of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week for her performance over five games at last weekend's Brown Invitational.

Crowley made her debut for the Bears with a balanced effort over Brown's 2-3 showing, recording eight goals, nine assists, eight steals and five draw ejections. The freshman scored twice and grabbed four steals in a 14-13 double overtime setback against Marist, then secured her first collegiate hat trick in a 12-9 victory over Wagner.

Crowley and the rest of the squad return to action at Hartwick on Feb. 22.
