Brown Trumps Redlands, 10-6, in First Game of San Diego State Tournament
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – In the first of eleven games that the Brown women's water polo team (7-8, 2-2 CWPA) will play on its spring break trip to California, the Bears defeated the Redlands Bulldogs (7-11) by a score of 10-6.

Brown was dynamic from the start, using a 3-0 run in the first quarter to pace its victory over the University of Redlands in the opening game of the San Diego State Tournament. Junior Kate Woods (La Jolla, CA), senior Katharine Booher (Palo Alto, CA) and sophomore Liz Rosen (San Anselmo, CA) each scored a goal in the first to get the Bears started and, even though the Bulldogs tried to fight back, Brown was able to maintain the three goal lead for most of the game. Rosen was outstanding over the course of the evening, finishing with four goals, two assists and three steals. Woods was also exceptional, as she added three goals, two assists and three steals of her own. Sophomore Evan Cranston (Palo Alto, CA) paced the defense, playing the entire game in net and making six saves.
The Bears will play two more games on Saturday to conclude the San Diego State tournament, taking on the Long Beach State 49ers at 1:00pm EST and the San Diego State Aztecs at 5:00pm EST.
