New London, CT- Brown women's water polo sophomore Emily McNamara (Winters, CA) led the offense with four goals to help the Bears to a 14-9 victory over Connecticut College on Wednesday evening. The win improved Brown to 17-13 overall while the Camels dropped to 4-7.
The Bears had a big first quarter outscoring the Camels 7-3, and extended their lead to 10-4 by halftime. The Camels shut down Brown in the third and scored three of their own to come within three, but Bruno tallied four goals in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Sophomore Sarah Presant (Poway, CA) and Kate Woods (La Jolla, CA) pitched in with three goals apiece, followed by freshman Madison Pepper (Baytown, TX) with two. Also scoring was sophomore Malaika Drebin (Palo Alto, CA) and freshman Rebecca Zak (Carlsbad, CA) with one goal each.
Freshman Evan Cranston (Palo Alto, CA) played the first two quarters in goal for Bruno and picked up five saves. Sophomore Sarah Shin (Fullerton, CA) came in for relief and earned two saves in the final two quarters.
Brown will now prepare for the CWPA Divisional Championships on April 14-15 hosted at Bucknell.
