    Genai Kerr Joins Brown University Water Polo Staff Providence, RI- Head Water Polo Coach Felix Mercado has announced the addition of Genai Kerr to his men's and women's water polo staff. Kerr, a 2000 graduate of the University of California at Irvine and a two-time All-American goalkeeper, will serve as Mercado's assistant coach.

    Water Polo Defeats Gannon, 11-8, in Eastern Championship Second Round BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Southern Division Rookie of the Year Kate Woods (Fr., La Jolla, Calif./La Jolla) buried four feeds to earn Player of the Game accolades in leadin Brown University to an 11-8 victory over Gannon University in the opening game of the 2011 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Women's Eastern Championship at Indiana University's Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center. Brown, which can finish no higher than ninth in the 11 team format, will next be in action at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 1 in the final game of the Bears round-robin consolation bracket with Mercyhurst College and Gannon. The team with the best record among the three will finish ninth, while the next two will finish 10th and 11th to comprise the final portion of the tournament's standings.

    Brown Water Polo Falls to Harvard 16-12 on Senior Night Providence, RI- Katharine Booher scored five goals and Sarah Shin combined for eight saves in the net, but it wasn't enough to get by the Harvard women's water polo team tonight as it earned a 16-12 win over the Bears at Wheaton College. The win improved Harvard to 16-13 overall on the year, while the loss dropped Brown to 10-16. The Bears also honored their three seniors in their final "home" game of their careers – Rita Bullwinkel, Katherine Stanton and Joanna Wohlmuth, prior to the match tonight.

    Women’s Water Polo Wins One at Princeton Invitational Princeton, NJ- The Brown University women’s water polo team had a rough start to their 2011 season, opening up 1-3 at the Princeton Invitational this weekend. The Bears, losing two 100-point scorers to graduation, dropped their first two games on Friday night to Pacific (10-5) and Princeton (12-1), but earned an 11-8 win over Villanova in Brown’s first game on Saturday afternoon. However, the Bears ended the day with an 11-8 loss to Colorado State.
