Stephanie Laing & Lauren Presant Earn All-East Honors
Senior Lauren Presant (Poway, CA) was selected to the Eastern Championship First Team and senior Stephanie Laing (Ann Arbor, MI) was selected to the Second Team in a recent announcement made by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA). Both helped lead the Brown women's water polo team to a 20-15 record and a 1-3 mark in Northern Division Play.
Presant earned her third consecutive First Team All-North honor and was named First Team All-East after she scored 86 goals, handed out 34 assists and picked up 36 steals for the Bears this year. She also helped guide Bruno to an ECAC Championship and was named the CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week two times. She was a second team All-East selection in 2008, and currently holds the Brown school record in goals in a career (341) and goals in a season (100).
Laing posted a 20-15 record in net for the Bears this season and tallied 372 saves in 1,053 minutes played. She boasts an 8.82 goals-against-average and a .584 save percentage. She is a two-time All-North and All-East selection, and was named the CWPA Defensive Player of the Week five times. She holds Brown University records for saves in a game (24), saves in a season (372) and also saves in a career (1,118). Her 1,118 career saves is 342 more than the previous record-holder, Keira Heggie '04.
