Poughkeepsie, NY- Seniors Lauren Presant and Sarah Glick's four goals apiece led the Brown women's water polo team to victories against Iona and St. Francis during the Red Fox Invitational at Marist on Sunday afternoon.
In Brown's 8-7 win over Iona, Brown jumped out to a 3-2 lead after the first quarter, but the Gaels outscored Brown 2-1 in the second to head into halftime tied 4-4. But the Bears scored three goals in the third and another in the fourth to edge Iona 8-7. Glick led the offense with four goals, while Joanna Wohlmuth added two. Also chipping in was Katherine Stanton and Presant with one goal apiece. Presant also added four assists to help with the win.
The Bears got hot in the second game and cruised to a 14-3 victory against St. Francis. Brown earned a 6-1 lead after the first two quarters, and then scored four goals in the third and another in the fourth to earn the win. Presant scored a game-high four goals, followed by freshman Brittany Westerman and Glick with two apiece. Also adding to the offense was Rita Bullwinkel and Stanton with one goal each.
Laing earned both wins in goal for the Bears today, picking up eight saves against Ina and then 12 against St. Francis.
