Volleyball To Host Brown Invitational

Fairfield will take on Texas A&M in the first contest of the Invitational, with a match time set for Friday at 3:00p.pm. The Bears take the court on Friday, as well, with back to back matches at 5:00pm and 8:00pm, battling Yale and Fairfield, respectively.

The Bears finally return to Pizzitola for the Brown Invitational. The team has played only one home contest this season, which resulted in a five game hard fought loss to in-state rival, University of Rhode Island Rams. Brown currently stands at 5-6, 1-0, with the lone Ivy victory coming against Yale on September 21 in the Yale Invitational.

Senior Corre Myer, leads the team in assists totaling 250, which ranks her eighth in the Ivy League. Myer broke the Brown career assist record early in the 2000 season, and is well on her way to breaking the 4,000 assist mark, as she enters the Brown Invitational with 3,162 in her career.

Junior Jessie Cooper has had an impressive 2001 season, posting a .228 hitting percentage with 3.97 kills per game. She totals 155 kills on the season, and broke her personal best 18 kills, posting 25 versus Sacred Heart on September 22, 2001. She was recently named to the All-Tournament Team at the University of Connecticut Invitational on September 29.
