Brown will participate in the UCONN Invitational in Storrs, CT this Friday, September 28. In addition to Brown, the two-day tournament will feature St. Peter's College, Northeastern University, and the host school, Connecticut. Brown will first compete against Northeastern University (6-5) on Friday at 2:00 pm.
The Bears enter the tournament (4-4) overall, (1-0) in Ivy League play. In its most recent competition, the Yale Invitational, the team went undefeated, recording victories over Yale, Sacred Heart, and Iona. Junior Jessie Cooper and sophomore Diane Schneider (Tustin, CA) show continued dominance in the attack. Cooper posted 25 kills against Sacred Heart, bringing her season total to 108. Schneider has recorded 103 kills in 2001. Senior Corre Myer (Corona Del Mar) continues to lead the Bears with experience and composure, and has totaled 187 assists for the season.
The Connecticut Tournament will wrap up a series of weekend road trips for the Bears. The team returns home to Pizzitola to host the Brown Invitational on Friday, October 5. The Invite will include Fairfield, Yale, and Texas A&M.
