Kung Named Women's Volleyball Ivy League Player of the Week

Brown senior libero, Elvina Kung (Dix Hills, NY) was named the Ivy League Player of the Week and leads the nation in digs per game with 8.30 after the first weekend of play for the Bears. Kung led the Bears defensively and broke Brown's all-time digs record, posting 38, when they faced UC Davis Saturday. She now sits a top both the national and Ivy League standings for women's volleyball in digs per game.

Kung also posted Brown's fourth best ever digs per game figure for a match (8.33) later the same day against Nevada. For the weekend, Elvina tallied 83 digs in 10 games, garnering All Tournament honors as a result. Elvina and the Bears will return to action this weekend, when they will travel to Poughkeepsie, NY to compete in the Marist tournament, where they will face Delaware, Holy Cross and Marist.
