Senior captain Elvina Kung (Dix Hills, NY) received the Joukowsky Post Graduate Scholarship Award at Brown University's 15th Annual All-Sports Banquet on Thursday, May 5.
Kung has spent the past four years being a leader for both teammates and classmates on and off the court, participating on various committees while excelling in the classroom and on the court. This past season, Kung has made her mark in Brown's All-Time record books, falling in the top two for all time digs/game (49 vs Princeton 10/8/04) and career total digs (1397 2001-2005). With 49 digs against Princeton, Kung broke the NCAA record for most digs in a four game match she finished second in the nation in digs per game with 6.82.
Off the court Kung has volunteered at a neighborhood elementary school and has participated on the University's Mieklejohn Advisor Committee. This past year Kung has served as president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and was one of two student athlete representatives chosen to be on the Athletic Director Search Committee.
