Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision To Penn

The loss drops Brown to 9-9 and 4-2 in the Ivy League.

Kelly Szczerba recorded 11 kills, 13 digs, and 7 blocks to the lead the Quakers to the victory on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Elvina Kung (Dix Hills, NY) and Sophomore Diane Schneider (Saratoga, CA) recorded their second consecutive double-doubles. Both players got it done on the attack, posting 12 and 18 kills, respectively. Kung recorded 18 digs, while Schneider had 13. Both players had similar numbers in Brown's Friday evening defeat at Princeton.

Other Bear totals, included, senior Corre Myer (Corona del Mar, CA), with 61 assists, Junior Jessie Cooper (Tustin, CA) who recorded 15 kills, and sophomore Kim Highlund (Newark, CA), for 15 digs.

The Bears, now at .500, look to return to top form and finish the last stretch of the season strong. Brown will host Cornell and Columbia next weekend, two matches that will undoubtedly produce some exciting, competitive volleyball. The Bears will take on Cornell on Friday October 26 at 7:00pm at Pizzitola. The match versus Columbia is set for Saturday October 27 at 4:00pm.
