PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown volleyball team (1-11, 0-4) dropped an Ivy League match at Cornell (14-1, 5-0), falling 3-1 (29-31, 30-27, 28-30, 22-30).
The Bears were led by freshman Liz Cvitan, who notched 17 kills and a .400 hitting percentage on the night. Sophomore Karalyn Kuchenbecker tallied another double-double with 16 kills and a match-high 17 digs, while sophomore Lauren Gibbs added 15 kills.
Defensively, Brown was also led by sophomore Leigh Martin, who also notched a double-double with 53 assists and 17 digs. Senior Kim Highlund came closer to reaching the 1,000 career dig mark with 12 against the Big Red, while junior Elvina Kung added 13 digs and freshman Victoria Kasten notched 15 digs.
The Bears will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they face Columbia at 4:00 p.m.
