Volleyball’s Tooloee Earns Ivy League Rookie of the Week
Brown University volleyball freshman Shirin Tooloee has earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors after recording 21 kills and 28 digs last week in a pair of 3-2 wins for the Bears, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Looking to build upon the program’s winningest season since 2008, the Brown volleyball team opens its 2014 schedule with a four-match set in San Diego, Calif. The Bears take on the University of San Diego and San Diego State on Friday, Sep. 5, followed by tilts against Northwestern and Cal State Fullerton the following day.

Conner, Lord Named Volleyball Captains for 2014
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown volleyball rising seniors Kathryn Conner (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Maddie Lord (La Jolla, Calif.) have been named captains for the 2014 season, Head Coach Diane Short announced on Tuesday. Brown’s top returning libero and attacker, respectively, Conner and Lord will build upon the 2013 season that saw Brown earn its most wins since 2008 and best Ivy League finish since 2005.

Volleyball Garners AVCA Team Academic Award
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Brown volleyball team received an American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average, it was announced on Monday. The Bears stood among a record-breaking 676 high school and college teams to be recognized for academic excellence.
