Harvard Tops Brown Volleyball, 3-0
Cambridge, Mass. – The Brown volleyball team matched up well with Harvard on Friday night, staying close in kills, but the Crimson found the edge defensively, totaling 15 blocks as the Bears fell, 3-0 (19-25, 12-25, 21-25).
Despite the loss, sophomore outside hitter Maddie Lord (La Jolla, Calif.) totaled a match-high 10 kills, while classmate Kathryn Conner (Newport Beach, Calif.) registered a match-high with 14 digs.
The Bears were within two points of the Crimson at 20-18 in the first set but Harvard was able to string together four-straight points on their way to a 25-19 win. The Crimson carried the momentum into game two, to put Brown a difficult 2-0 hole.
Despite the deficit the Bears continued to fight, and held a 6-5 lead in the third set. The two teams continued to battle, with the squads within one point of each other at 21-20. Again, it was Harvard who was able to string together points late in the set, eventually winning 25-21.
