Gliottone Earns All-Ivy League Volleyball Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior co-captain Annika Gliottone (Warwick, R.I.) was announced as an All-Ivy League selection as released by the conference Thursday afternoon. The four-year starter was tabbed as an honorable mention selection, leading the Bears defensive unit for most of the season as the team's libero, while also filling in as setter for several games. 

Gliottone leads Brown with 5.07 digs per set this season, totaling 436. She took over as the team's setter and finished second on the team with 198 assists. Gliottone also led the team with 36 service aces.

In Ivy League play, she finished fourth in the conference in digs per set in all matches and seventh in league-only contests with a 4.80 average and 235 total digs in 49 sets.

The 5-8 all-around star for the Bears will go down as one of the most versatile players in the history of the Brown volleyball program. She has totaled 1,233 digs, 517 assists and 77 service aces in 85 careers matches. A starter since her rookie season, she was second on the team with 227 digs in her freshman campaign. In 2009 she played several positions, finishing second on the team with 268 assists. Last year as the full-time libero she posted a team-leading 443 digs, and 28 service aces. This year she led the team with 17 service aces. She ranks fifth all-time in digs at Brown.
