Brown Volleyball Announces Captains for the 2010 Season
Providence, RI Head volleyball coach Diane Short recently announced that middle back Danielle Vaughan 11 (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) and setter Spencer McAndrews 12 (Los Angeles, CA) will serve as the captains for the 2010 Brown squad. The duo will lead the Bears through a difficult schedule this fall, and will look to return Brown to the top of the Ivy League.

Brown Volleyball Announces Class of 2014
Providence, R.I. The Brown volleyball team announced its Class of 2014 on Friday, as six talented players will join the promising nucleus already assembled in the Pizzitola Center. All six newcomers hail from California, and it is a group that head coach Diane Short believes, will add offensive firepower to our team, while giving us more depth.

Williamson Selected as Academic All-Ivy Honoree
Providence, RI- The Ivy League released its fall list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with ten Brown student-athletes being recognized. The first males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Yale Takes 3-0 Decision in Season Finale
The Brown volleyball squad wrapped up the 2009 season on Tuesday evening, as the visiting Yale Bulldogs stole a 3-0 win despite rookie Katrina Post's 12 kills and 16 defensive digs. With the loss, the Bears finish the season at 6-19 on the season, and 2-12 in league play, while Yale wraps up with a 21-4 overall mark, including 11-3 against Ivy opponents.

Brown's Comeback Bid Comes Up Just Short in 3-2 Loss
The Bears nearly pulled off a thrilling upset on Senior Night at the Pizzitola, but Columbia was able to fend off a late comeback, taking a 3-2 victory despite a near double-double from senior Liz Mueller. Post's 11 Kills Leads Brown Sweep of Cornell
Rookie Katrina Post notched a team-high 11 kills on Friday evening, helping the Brown volleyball team come away with an emphatic 3-0 sweep of the Cornell Big Red. Bruno had the offense clicking on all cylinders, finishing with a sparkling .291 team attack percentage. With the win, the Bears improve to 6-17 on the season, and 2-10 in league play, while Cornell falls to 6-18 overall and 3-10 against Ivy League opponents.

The Brown volleyball squad dropped a tough 3-0 match to Harvard on Saturday afternoon, as the Crimson hit a brisk .266 as a team to roll to the sweep. Rookie Katrina Post led the Bears, tying for the team lead with eight kills, and adding two aces and an assist, but it wasn't enough to keep Bruno from falling to 5-17 on the season, including 1-10 in league play. Harvard improves to 11-12 overall, with a 7-5 mark against Ivy League foes.

Despite an emphatic double-double from junior Brianna Williamson, the Bears dropped an extremely close 3-2 match at Dartmouth on Friday night, as the Big Green staved off a late Brown comeback. Williamson led the Bears with 15 kills, and added 19 digs and two assists, but Bruno fell to 5-16 on the season, and 1-9 in league play, while Dartmouth improves to 10-11 overall and 6-5 against Ivy opponents.

Despite an impressive game from sophomore setter Annika Gliottone, the Bears dropped a 3-1 match to Penn on Saturday afternoon, as the league-leading Quakers played a strong match on their home floor. The Bears rode impressive defense and an opportunistic offense to a 3-0 sweep of Ivy rival Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon, notching their first league win of the season while outhitting the Big Green by over 100 points. Junior Megan Toman had a team-high 10 kills, while classmate Brianna Williamson narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and eight digs.

Brown Volleyball Opens 2009 Season at Providence
The Brown University womens volleyball team will kick off the 2009 season on Wednesday, September 9, at Providence College at 7:30 p.m. The Bears will follow that with their first home match of the season on Thursday, when they host Bryant at 7:00 p.m., and will then play three games over the weekend when they compete at the URI Invitational.
