• Brown Volleyball Announces Captains for the 2010 Season

    Providence, RI – Head volleyball coach Diane Short recently announced that middle back Danielle Vaughan ’11 (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) and setter Spencer McAndrews ’12 (Los Angeles, CA) will serve as the captains for the 2010 Brown squad. The duo will lead the Bears through a difficult schedule this fall, and will look to return Brown to the top of the Ivy League.

    Providence, RI- The Ivy League released its fall list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with ten Brown student-athletes being recognized. The first males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

With the win, the Bears improve to 6-17 on the season, and 2-10 in league play, while Cornell falls to 6-18 overall and 3-10 against Ivy League opponents.

    The Brown University women’s volleyball team will kick off the 2009 season on Wednesday, September 9, at Providence College at 7:30 p.m. The Bears will follow that with their first home match of the season on Thursday, when they host Bryant at 7:00 p.m., and will then play three games over the weekend when they compete at the URI Invitational.
