Ten Athletes Earn 2002 Outdoor Track All Ivy Honors

Leading the way for the women was senior Ayanna Andrew (Freeport, NY) who earned three honors, including a First Team selection for her performance in the 100 Meter Hurdles, where she posted a time of 14.07. Andrew also earned Second Team honors in, both, the 4x100 Meter Relay and 4x400 Meter Relay.

Senior Claudine Compas (Great Neck, NJ), sophomore Julia Stevenson (Detroit, MI), and freshman Jaylon White (St. Louis Park, MN) composed the remainder of the 4x100 Team, while in the 4x400, it was Andrew, Stevenson, senior Laura Hughes (Hixson, TX), and junior Keely Tharp (Roberts, WI).

Junior Lauren Contursi (Flemington, NJ), who shattered the standing Meet record in the pole vault, earned a First Team selection, measuring 3.80/12.5 1/2 in the event. The senior duo of Mary Hale (McLean, VA) and Kim Thalmann (Holliston, MA) displayed two strong distance performances. Hale completed the 800 Meter Run in a time of 2:07.79, which was good for second place and a Second Team selection. Thalmann earned second in the 10,000 Meter Run, posting a time of 35:15.34.

On the men's side, Sean Thomas was selected to the Second Team in the triple jump. The junior from Wallkill, NY recorded a measurement of 14.89/48-10 1/4 in the event.
