Women Take Seventh at Murray Keatinge Invite

Orono, ME - The women's cross country team competed today at the Murray Keatinge Invitational hosted by University of Maine. The team took seventh overall with a score of 152 points. The meet was won by Southern Methodist University who tallied 35.

Leading the Bears for her first time, junior Annie Hatch (Tacoma, WA) crossed the line in 18:08, good for 23rd overall. Senior captain Julie Komosinski (San Diego, CA) was right behind, scoring 25th in 18:14. Michol Monaghan (Uniontown, PA) finished next, taking 31st with a time of 18:23.

Also scoring for the Bears were senior Emma Sarro (Chatham, NY) and junior Anna Willard (Greenwood, ME). Sarro took 37th (18:36) and Willard followed in 38th (18:37), making her 2004 debut in her home state of Maine. Rounding out the top seven for Brown were junior Jilane Rodgers (Brea, CA) and frosh Smita Gupta (Tulsa, OK). They finished 45th (18:52) and 50th (18:57), respectively.

The Bears will travel next to Boston, MA to compete at the New England Championships on October 8.
