Boston, MA-- The women's distance medley relay team traveled to the ECAC Championships today at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center. The team won the race, earned All-East honors and smashed the standing school record by 25 seconds. Their time of 11:15.90 currently ranks them ninth in the nation and gives them a great chance to win a bid to the NCAA Championships.

Leading off the relay was junior Naja Ferjan (Ljubljana, Slovenia), splitting 3:26 for 1200m. Ferjan handed off to sophomore Akilah King (Medford, MA), who split 55.4 for 400m. Senior co-captain Kelly Powell (East Patchogue, NY) split 2:12.0 for the 800m leg, and senior Anna Willard (Greenwood, ME) anchored with a 4:41 1600m.

The DMR team will join senior co-captain Brittany Grovey (Hobbs, NM), who qualified in the triple jump, for the NCAA Championships on March 10-11. The Championships will be hosted by the University of Arkansas.
