Cambridge, MA-- The women's track and field team took a limited squad to compete at the USATF-NE Championships on Sunday, February 20. A few personal bests were set as the meet was used as a tune-up for the Heptagonal Championships next weekend.

Senior Jaylon White (Minneapolis, MN) placed second in the 60m dash, with a time of 7.92. Sophomore Lauren Hale (Warren, RI) was fifth. Hale came back to compete in the 200m dash, also taking fifth in that event with a time of 25.9. In the 400m dash, sophomore Laura Snizek (Vermontville, NY) took second, freshman Akilah King (Medford, MA) third, and junior Emily Lewis-LaMonica (Lawrenceville, NJ) fifth. In the 60mH, senior Fara Kitton (Bellmore, NY) placed third with a time of 8.95.

In the longer distances, senior Julie Komosinski (San Diego, CA) set a season best in the mile run with a time of 5:00.36, which was good for fifth place overall. This time qualifies Komosinski to compete at ECACs. In the 800m, Brown captured fourth through seventh places, led by junior Anna Willard (Greenwood, ME). In the 5000m, sophomore Michol Monaghan (Uniontown, PA) won the race by over 30 seconds. She finished with a time of 17:28.83, a new personal record for her. This time also puts her at number ten on Brown's all-time Top Ten indoor record board.

On the field, senior co-captain Jill Lynch (Racine, WI) placed second in the shot put with a put of 13.85m (45'5.25"). Senior Jennifer Donahue (Winter Park, FL) took fourth in the weight throw (16.03m/52'7.25"), and was first among collegiate competitors.
