Women's Track Takes Part in First Day of Armory Collegiate; Contursi Ties For First In Pole Vault

New York, NY - The women's track team completed the first day of the Armory Collegiate Invitational in New York with several top ten finishes. In the university rankings, Brown currently ranks 11th with 14 points. Syracuse and Columbia lead with 44 and 39 points respectively. Senior Lauren Contursi placed first in a three-way tie in the university pole vault, clearing 3.80 meters, breaking her own meet record of 3.75 meters.
Also placing for the Bears was sophomore Jill Lynch who placed sixth in the university shot put with a throw of 13.52 meters. The women's university distance medley took fourth with a time of 12:06.66. Freshman Annie Hatch placed eighth in the university mile with a time of 5:10.13. Junior Katie Rowinski placed tenth in the university high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters.
