Women's Track Takes Third At URI Invitational

Kingston, RI - The women's track team took third place at the University of Rhode Island Invitational on Saturday. The Bears finished the day with 162 points while Connecticut took first with 192.50 points. Rhode Island finished second with 181.50 points while New Hampshire took fourth with 54 points and Central Connecticut took fifth with 45 points.
Senior Keely Tharp (Roberts, WI) won the 500 meters with a time of 1:15.46. Junior Julia Stevenson (Detroit, MI) took first in the 400 meters with a time of 58.79. Junior Katherine Kosub (San Antonio, TX) was also a first place finisher for the Bears, winning the 800 meters with a time of 2:14.99. Brown placed the top four finishers in the 800 meters. Junior Katie Rowinski qualified for the ECAC Championships with a third place leap of 1.70 meters in the high jump.
Brown continues action on Friday Feb. 14 at the Armory Collegiate in New York.
