Princeton, NJ- The Brown University women's track & field team competed at the 10th annual Larry Ellis Invitational on April 16-17 at Weaver Stadium at Princeton University. The Bears had a plethora of great performances, which included a stellar 5,000-meter run by Ariel Wright, whose 13-second personal record of 16:22.18 broke a current school record.
In the running events, Brown's 4x400m relay team comprised of Samantha Adelberg, Brielle Beaudette, Lucy Higgins and Jasmine Chukwueke earned the title with a time of 3:48.45. Adelberg also had a solid showing in the 800m run to earn 11th with a 2:13.12, and Chukwueke finished the 400m race in 56.46 to earn fourth.
Brown's Suscan Scavone finished in third place in the 100m hurdles in 14.97 seconds, and Kesley Ramsey finished in 20th in the 1,500m run with a 4:35.42. Following behind was Elazine Kuckertz with a personal record of 4:36.84 for 31st place. Behind Wright in the 5,000m run was Lauren Pischel, who finished fifth overall with a time of 16:55.51.
In the field events, Lacey Craker finished in fourth in the hammer throw with a 163-01 toss, and Victoria Buhr earned third place in the discus with a 139-02 and third in the shot put with a 45-06.50 toss
In Gainesville at the University of Florida, Danielle Grunloh finished in second place in the discus throw with a 173-03 and fourth in the shot put with a 51-04.50 toss. Brynn Smith earned second in the hammer throw with a 183-09 and also sixth in the shot put with a 50-01.75. Gabriela Baiter finished fourth in the triple jump with a 38-04.75
