Boston, MA- The Brown women's track & field team had some great performances during the Terrier Invitational hosted at Boston University on Saturday afternoon. Highlighting the Bears' performances was Danielle Grunloh with a shot put title and Bree Shugarts' second place finish in the 1,000-meter run.
In the 200m dash, Lucy Higgins earned Brown's top finish with a 25.77 for 11th place, as Jasmine Chukwueke followed in 26th with a time of 25.15. Higgins also earned Brown's top finish in the 200m dash with a great second place time of 1:15.55. Chukwueke was right behind with a time of 1:15.61 for third.
Samantha Adelberg led Brown in the 800m run with a 2:14.89 for 10th, while Rosie Fleming earned 11th place with a 2:15.27. Olivia Thomas also had a solid effort in the event with a 16th place time of 2:17.90.
Shugarts earned second place in the 1,000m run with a 2:52.22 and Kesley Ramsey finished fifth in the one mile run with a 4:57.65. Susan Scavone finished in sixth in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.48 and Brown's 4x400m relay team came in third place with a 3:53.08. The team was comprised of Chukwueke, Higgins, Ihiechi Ohia-Enyia and Brielle Beaudette.
Brown's Hannah Wallace led Brown in the pole vault with a 10th place finish with a 3.05m, and Gaby Baiter led the triple jump with a leap of 11.66m for third place. Also doing a solid job in the triple jump was Shannon Stone (7th) with an 11.29m.
Grunloh garnered the shot put title with a 14.76m throw, followed by Brynn Smith in third with a 14.42m.
The Bears are back in action on February 5-6 at the Yale Invitational.
