Ames Wins Top Singles Flight at Eastern Intercollegiate

WEST POINT, NY - Five members of the Brown women's tennis team competed at the 2006 Eastern Intercollegiate Women's Tennis Tournament, held at Army, September 15-17. Senior Daisy Ames (Atlanta, GA), the top seed in the #1 singles flight, won her flight, while senior Michelle Pautler (Kamuela, HI), the top seed in the #2 singles flight, took second in her flight. Sophomore Sara Mansur (Houston, TX) took second in the #3 singles flight as the top seed, while freshman Tanja Vucetic (Aventura, FL) took second in the #4 singles flight as the second seed. Freshman Seton Pariser (Alexandria, VA) was the top seed in the #4 singles flight, and she fell in the semifinals.

The rest of the Brown team competed at the Columbia Invitational, playing hidden duals against Columbia, Syracuse, St. John's, and Penn. Junior Kelley Kirkpatrick (Villanova, PA) led the Bears, going 2-2 in singles action and 1-2 in doubles action.
