#67 Women's Tennis Closes out 2003 Season with Tough Loss to #50 Yale, 5-2

The Brown women's tennis team (15-8, 4-3), ranked #67 in the country, closed out the 2003 season on Wednesday afternoon, dropping a 5-2 decision to #50 Yale at the Pizzitola Center courts.

The Bears lost the doubles point, but junior Victoria Beck (Wellington, New Zealand) and freshman Stephanie Falconi (New York, NY) did earn a commanding victory for Brown at #2, winning 8-3.

In singles action, Brown came close to earning a 4-3 victory with wins at #4 and #5, but dropped two tough matches, losing at #2 by default and at #6 in an 11-9 tie-breaker. Sophomore Alex Arlak (Leonia, NJ) earned a win at #4 (6-2, 7-6 (3), while freshman Kimberly Singer (Newport Beach, CA) earned a sin at #5 in straight sets (6-1, 6-1).
