The women's tennis team closed out the season this weekend, spliting its matches with Dartmouth (W, 4-3) and Harvard (L, 7-0), and finishing with a 13-6 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the Ivy League.
On Friday afternoon, Brown defeated Dartmouth, 4-3, in its final home match of the season. Freshman Kerry Meath led the Bears with a win at #5 singles (3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-0) and combined with junior Caroline Casey for a win at #3 doubles (8-6). Although Brown didn't win the doubles point, the Bears won four singles contests for the 4-3 win. In addition to Meath, sophomore Victoria Beck won at #2 (6-4, 7-6). Freshmen Alex Arlak won at #3 (7-6 (5), 0-6, 6-2, and junior Maria Elena del Valle won the deciding match at #6 (6-1, 3-6, 6-4).
The Bears closed out the season with a 7-0 loss at Harvard on Sunday afternoon. Beck and Arlak won the sole point for Brown, picking up an 8-6 win at #1 doubles.
