HANOVER, NH - The women's tennis team improved to 13-7 overall and 2-2 in the Ivy League on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Dartmouth, 6-1.
The Bears started the match by winning the doubles point as the team of junior Victoria Beck (Wellington, New Zealand) and freshman Stephanie Falconi (New York, NY) won at #2 (8-4), and the freshman duo of Kimberly Singer (Newport Beach, CA) and Mariana Lee (Honolulu, HI) won at #3 (8-3).
In singles action, Brown won at numbers 2-6, taking all but one decision in straight sets. Freshman Yelena Klurfeld (Brooklyn, NY) led the way with a win at #2 (6-2, 6-2), while Beck won at #3 (6-3, 6-4). Sophomore Alex Arlak earned a win at #4 (6-0, 6-2), while Singer win at #5 (6-1, 1-6, 6-3). in the final match of the day, Falconi claimed a win at #6, losing just one point (6-1, 6-0).
The Bears continue action on Friday, April 18, hosting Columbia at 2:00 p.m.
