PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's tennis team (7-11, 2-3) put together a solid team effort on Saturday afternoon against Columbia and came away with its second straight win, a 6-1 victory over the Lions. The Bears breezed through doubles action, winning all three by a combined score of 24-7 to go ahead 1-0. In singles action, the Bears won four of the six matches in straight sets to post the win. Senior Michelle Pautler (Kamuela, HI) earned a tight win at #1 singles, winning 7-6 (4) in the first set. After losing the second set, 7-5, Pautler put her match away by winning the third-set tie-breaker, 10-3. In the other four wins, Brown only lost 7 total games.
The Bears return to action on Friday, April 20th, when they travel to Hanover, NH to face Dartmouth at 3:00 p.m.
