Bears Upset #69 Cornell, 4-3, for First Ivy Win

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's tennis team (6-11, 1-3) posed a hard-faught 4-3 victory over #69 Cornell on Friday afternoon, earning its first Ivy League win of the season. After sweeping the doubles point, winning convincingly at #1 and #2, Brown and Cornell split the singles matches as the Bears came away with the win.

Sophomore Sara Mansur (Houston, TX) helped to lead the Bears with a victory at #1 doubles and a three-set win at #3 singles. Freshman Emily Ellis (Dallas, TX) was also instrumental in the win, picking up a victory at #2 doubles and #6 singles. Sophomore Alexa Baggio (Coopersburg, PA) picked up the other singles win for Brown at #5.

The Bears are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, April 14, when they host Columbia at 12:00 noon.
