PROVIDENCE, RI - The women's tennis team (11-2, 1-0) picked up its second straight win with a 4-3 victory over Ivy rival Princeton in the Bears Ivy League opener.
Junior Caroline Casey and freshman Alex Arlak led the way for the Bears as each won their singles and doubles contests. Arlak combined for an 8-2 win with sophomore Victoria Beck at #1 doubles, while Casey combined with freshman Kerry Meath for an 8-5 win at #3 doubles. With those wins, the Bears started the match off by winning the doubles point and never looked back.
Arlak won at #3 singles (6-3, 3-6, 6-2), while Casey won at #6 singles (6-3, 7-6 (5)). Junior Olivia Wong won the deciding match at #5 singles (4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-2) as the Bears began Ivy competition with a 1-0 record.
Brown continues action on Saturday afternoon when they host Penn at noon.
