Women's Tennis Defeats Alabama Birmingham, 5-2

The women's tennis team improved to 10-2 with a 5-2 win over Alabama Birmingham in the Bears' final contest of spring break.

Freshman Kerry Meath and junior Caroline Casey led the Bears. The duo combined for an 8-6 win at #3 doubles, and each won their singles contests. Meath, who is now 20-1 in singles action, won at #4 (6-3, 6-3), while Casey won at #5 (6-4, 2-6, 6-4). She is now 15-6 in singles this season.

Freshman Adriana Marianella (Santa Rosa, CA) won at #2 (7-5, 6-4), while classmate Alex Arlak (Leonia, NJ) won at #3 (6-1, 6-2). Rounding out the singles competition, junior Olivia Wong (Belmont, MA) won at #6 (6-3, 7-5).

The Bears, currently ranked #58 by the ITA, continue action on Friday, April 5, when they host Princeton at 2:00 p.m. in their Ivy opener.
