Bears Hand Boston University 5-2 Loss

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's tennis team (6-3) defeated Boston University, 5-2, on Thursday afternoon at the Pizzitola Center. Brown claimed the doubles point, winning at numbers 1 and 2, to start the match, and never looked back, winning four of the six singles matches, including the top two, for the 5-2 win.

In doubles action, junior Kerry Meath and senior Victoria Beck combined for an 8-6 win at #1, while junior Alex Arlak and freshman Michelle Pautler earned an 8-6 win at #2.

In singles action, Arlak was Brown's top victor, winning at #1 (6-3, 2-6, 6-2), while Meath earned a win at #2 (6-3, 5-7, 6-2). Beck picked up a win at #4 in straight sets (6-1, 6-3), while freshman Daisy Ames also earned a win in straight sets, winning 6-4, 7-6 (4) at #6 singles.

The Bears continue action on Sunday, March 28, when they face Idaho State in their first match at the UC Irvine Tournament.
