Women's Tennis Improves to 6-0 With 4-3 Win Over Boston University

The women's tennis team defeated Boston University on Wednesday afternoon, 4-3, earning their sixth straight win, while improving to 6-0 in the winter and 8-1 overall.

Freshmen Kerry Meath and Alex Arlak led the way for the Bears, winning each of their doubles and each of their singles matches. Arlak combined with sophomore Victoria Beck for an 8-5 win at #1 doubles and went on to win her singles match at #3, 6-3, 6-4. Meath improved to 17-1 with a win at #4, 7-6 (5), 6-2, and combined with junior Caroline Casey for an 8-2 win at #3 doubles.

Those two wins gave the Bears the doubles point and the team won three singles matches to defeat the Terriers in the close match.

Junior Olivia Wong was the other victor in singles action, as she won at #6, 6-4, 6-4.

Brown, currently ranked #68 by the ITA, continues action on Monday, March 25, when they face Cincinnati in the Bears first match of Spring Break. The contest will be played in Bermuda and begins at 10:00 a.m. While in Bermuda, Brown will also face Memphis and Alabama Birmingham.
