Bears Fall to #24 South Carolina, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's tennis team (3-5) dropped a 5-2 decision to #24 South Carolina on Saturday afternoon at the Pizzitola Center. The Bears won the doubles point, but we unable to generate enough wins in singles action, as Brown won just one of the six singles matches.

Freshman Sara Mansur (Houston, TX) led the Bears, combining with freshman Brett Finkelstein (North Caldwell, NJ) to earn an 8-5 win at #3 doubles. Mansur also won the only singles match for the Bears, posting a 2-6, 6-4, (10-5) win at #5 singles.

Brown's other win came at #1 doubles, where sophomores Kelley Kirkpatrick (Villanova, PA) and Ashley Pariser (Alexandria, VA) pulled out a 9-7 victory.

The Bears continue action on Sunday, March 5, when they host Clemson at 11:00 a.m.
