Bears Earn 5-2 Win over Boston University

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's tennis team (3-2) picked up a 5-2 win over visiting Boston University on Saturday afternoon, continuing its trend of alternating wins with losses. The Bears won the doubles point and never looked back, earning wins at #3-#6 singles to post the victory.

In doubles action, sophomores Kelley Kirkpatrick (Villanova, PA) and Ashley Pariser (Alexandria, VA) led off with an 8-2 win at #1. Juniors Daisy Ames (Atlanta, GA) and Kara Zeder (Miami, FL) followed with an 8-4 win at #2 as the Bears went up 1-0.

After dropping the first two singles matches, Brown won four straight to pick up the win. Junior Amanda Saiontz (Miami, FL) started off with a win at #3 singles, 6-4, 6-3, while freshman Sara Mansur (Houston, TX) picked up a 6-4, 7-6 (3) win at #4. Fifth singles went to Kirkpatrick, who won 6-1, 7-6 (6), while Zeder earned a 6-1, 6-7 (4), 1-0 (6) win at #6.

Brown continues action on Monday, February 20th, when it travels to Richmond to take on the Spiders at 11:00 a.m.
