Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 49 Florida International, 5-2

MIAMI, Fla. – The Brown women's tennis team was defeated by No. 49 Florida International, 5-2, on Sunday. Brown won the doubles points and junior Mariska Chamdani (Santa Clara, Calif.) had a victory in sixth singles.

Sophomore Maddie Stearns (Short Hills, N.J.) and senior Ammu Mandalap (Princeton Junction, N.J.) won their third doubles match, 6-2, while senior Hannah Camhi (Woodbury, N.Y.) and freshman Katie Ta (Mission Viejo, Calif.) battled to win second singles, 6-4, and clinch the point for the Bears. 

Chamdani posted the lone singles victory for Brown, winning 7-6 (7-4), 6-0. Stearns' fourth singles match went to tiebreaker but she eventually fell, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).

The Bears will remain in Florida and next compete against Florida Atlantic on Tuesday, March 29 for a 1:00 p.m. match.
