Women's Tennis Triumphs Over Stony Brook, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's tennis team improved to 5-3 this season after a 5-2 victory over Stony Brook on Sunday at the Pizzitola Sports Center.

 

The Bears nabbed the lone doubles point up for grabs as Dayna Lord/Hannah Camhi outlasted Louise Badoche/Nadia Smergut, 8-5 before Ashley Noyes/Ammu Madalap triumphed over Becky Shtilkind/Adey Osabouhien, 8-3.

 

After dropping the No. 1 singles match, the Bears responded with four consecutive victories to seal the match.  Camhi survived in her match against Osabouhien, 6-1, 4-6, 10-7 before Nikita Uberoi cruised over Smergut, 6-3, 6-2.  Sarah Kandath dispatched Shtilkind, 6-3, 6-3 while Mandalap scored a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Badoche of Stony Brook.

 

Brown will be idle until March 1 when they host Bryant, Providence and Rhode Island in the Pizzitola Sports Center beginning at 9 a.m.
