Women’s Tennis Defeats Dartmouth, 4-3

HANOVER, NH – The Brown women's tennis team (7-11, 1-4) picked up its first Ivy win of the season on Sunday afternoon, defeating Dartmouth (8-9, 1-5), 4-3. The Bears won the doubles point to take the early lead and then earned victories in three of the six singles matches. Freshman Hannah Camhi (Syosset, NY) helped to lead Brown with wins at #1 doubles and #2 singles, while sophomore Nikita Uberoi (Boca Raton, FL) and freshman Ammu Mandalap (Princeton Junction, NJ) also won in both singles and doubles.

Brown opened the match with wins in all three doubles matches, though the point could have gone to either team, as matches at both #1 and #3 went to a tiebreaker with the Bears winning 9-8 (6) at #1 and 9-8 (8) at #3.

Winners at #1 were Camhi and senior Misia Krasowski (Deerfield, IL), while winners at #3 were freshman Olivia Hsu (Santa Rosa, CA) and sophomore Sarah Kandath (Gansevoort, NY). Mandalpa and Uberoi combined for an 8-3 win at #2 to give Brown the sweep.

In singles action, winners for the Bears included Camhi at #2 (6-0, 7-6 (1)), Uberoi at #4 (3-6, 6-2, 6-1) and Mandalap at #5 (6-2, 6-2).

Brown continues action on Thursday when it hosts Harvard in a 6:00 p.m. match. Originally scheduled for Friday April 19th, the match was postponed due to Friday's lockdown in Boston.
