PROVIDENCE, RI – The 40th-ranked Brown women's tennis team (13-3) won its final match before spring break with a 6-1 win over visiting Stony Brook on Friday afternoon. The Sea Wolves had just five players available for the match, but Brown picked up four singles wins and the doubles point to post the 6-1 decision.
In doubles action, Brown won at #1 and #2 with junior Misia Krasowski (Deerfield, IL) and sophomore Ariel Caldwell (Atlanta, GA) claiming at 8-4 win at the #1 position and senior Carrisa Aboubakare (Orange, CA) and freshman Nikita Uberoi (Boca Raton, FL) earning an 8-5 win at #2. Brown earned the win at #3 doubles by default.
In singles action, sophomore Jessica Harrow (La Crescenta, CA) and Uberoi both earned wins in straight sets, playing at #2 and #5, respectively. Brown's other two singles wins came at #1, where Krasowski claimed a 6-0, 3-6, 6-4 win, and at #4, where freshman Laura Wiley (Fort Lauderdale, FL) also won in three sets, 6-1, 6-7 (3), 6-3. The Bears also picked up a point at #6, winning by default.
Brown is now off for the next two weeks and will resume action on Wednesday, March 28th, when the Bears face Missouri in Boca Raton, FL at 10:00 a.m.
