#51 Bears Fall to #8 UNC in Second Round of ITA Kick-Off Weekend

CHAPEL HILL, NC – The Brown women's tennis team (2-1), ranked #51 in the current poll, dropped a 7-0 decision to #8 North Carolina (5-1) on Sunday afternoon in Durham. The Bears battled the host Tar Heels, with senior Cassandra Herzberg (Miami Beach, FL) leading the way. Herzberg teamed with sophomore Jessica Harrow (La Crescenta, CA) to post an 8-6 win at #1 doubles, upsetting the Nation's 48th-ranked doubles team. Herzberg also forced a third set in her singles match at #2 singles against the Nation's 16th-ranked singles player.

The Bears continue action this coming weekend when they host Buffalo and Providence in a pair of matches Friday evening. Brown will face the Bulls at 4:00 p.m. and the Friars at 8:00 p.m.
