PRINCETON, NJ - The Brown women's tennis team (4-5) closed out the ECAC Indoor Championship with a 4-1 win over third-seeded and 55th-ranked Harvard to take third in the Tournament. The Bears dropped the doubles point to start the match, but stormed back with four wins, all in straight sets, at #3-#6 singles to clinch the win. Matches at #1 and #2 singles were not finished after the outcome had been decided.
In doubles action, the duo of junior Cassandra Herzberg (Miami Beach, FL) and Ariel Caldwell (Atlanta, GA) earned an 8-5 win at #3 for Brown's lone victory.
Singles wins came from Herzberg at #3 (7-5, 6-1), freshman Jessica Harrow (Los Angeles, CA) at #4 (7-5, 6-3), junior Julie Flanzer (Highland Park, IL) at #5 (6-1, 7-5), and Caldwell at #6 (6-4, 6-1).
Brown continues action this weekend when it hosts Akron on Saturday, February 26th, at 12:00 noon. The Bears then host a double-header on Sunday against Stony Brook (11:00) and Providence (4:00)
