CAMBRIDGE, MA - The 62nd-ranked Brown women's tennis team (15-7, 3-2) dropped a 5-2 match to #56 Harvard on Friday afternoon in Cambridge. The Bears dropped the doubles point with Harvard earning wins at #1 and #2. Senior Emily Ellis (Fort Worth, TX) and junior Marisa Schonfeld (Washington, DC) earned an 8-5 win at #3 to avoid the sweep. Brown's two points came in singles action where sophomore Cassandra Herzberg (Miami Beach, FL) claimed a 6-4, 7-5 win at #2 singles, while Schonfeld posted a 7-6 (2), 6-2 win at #5 singles. Despite the final score, the match was actually much tighter, as freshman Misia Krasowski (Deerfield, IL) nearly won her first set at #3 singles, which could have swung momentum in Brown's favor. Ellis also played a strong match, eventually falling in a super tiebreaker at #6 singles.
The Bears return home to host Dartmouth in their final home
match of the season Sunday afternoon at 12:00.
