Daniels Swims Well at Senior Nationals, Posting Two Olympic Qualifying Times

COLLEGE PARK, MD - Brown University senior Liz Daniels (Pittsburgh, PA), a First Team All-Ivy selection in three individual events and an Honorable Mention All-American in the 100 free, competed at the 2003 Senior Nationals along with sophomore Bridgette Cahill (Turnersville, NJ), and Max Allen (Casy, NC) and Eric Brumberg (Sewell, NJ), of the men's team.

Earlier this year at NCAAs, Daniels placed 17th in the 50 free, earning a 14th place finish in the 100 free with a life-time best performance of 49.84. The only Ivy Leaguer to place at the NCAA Championships, Daniels was also the top female Ivy finisher at Senior Nationals.

She swam both the 50 and 100 free, earning Olympic Qualifying times in both events. Daniels grabbed 3rd in the 50 in a time of 25.99, and took 18th in the 100 free in a time of 57.05.

Other swimmers from Brown who competed at the Senior Nationals were Cahill, who took 69th in the 400 IM (5:09.31), Allen, who took 38th in the 200 fly (2:04.41), and Brumberg, who finished in 54th in the 400 IM (4:40.10).
