The Brown women's swimming & diving team competed in the Florida Gulf Coast Winter Relay Invite on Friday, January 6, with Western Kentucky, Bucknell, Providence College, and Shippensburg. The Bears won the event, finishing with 208 points, followed by Western Kentucky with 192 points. Bucknell was in third with 148 points, while Providence (24) and Shippensburg (20) rounded out the field.
The Bears won five relay events, including the 200 Free Relay, which was won by senior Eileen Robinson (Harbour Grace, NF), senior Ali Will (Mequon, WI), senior Elizabeth Wong (Santa Monica, CA), and freshman Sarah Goodman (Philadelphia, PA) winning in a time of 1:38.24.
Junior Ashley Wallace (Chatham, NJ), junior Meredith Cocco (Lafayette Hill, PA), and won combined to win the 300 Fly Relay in a time of 2:58.14, while junior Sarah Demers (Andover, MA), junior Julia Lippe-Klein (Palo Alto, CA), and sophomore Aly Wyatt (Ypsilanti, MI) earned first place in the 300 Breast Relay with a time of 3:27.49.
Robinson, junior Becky Kowalsky (Ft. Myers, FL), and freshman Ainsley McFadgen (Glace Bay, NS) won the 800 Free Relay (100-200-500) in a time of 8:03.17, while Wyatt, junior Emily Brush (Duxbury, MA), Demers, and Cocco won the 400 IM Relay with a time of 4:12.86.
In a separate Diving Invitational, the Bin Stultz Diving Invitational, senior Jessica Larson (Wayland, MA) took second place with a score of 294.60, while junior Amy Latinen (Fenton, MI) earned a fourth place finish with a score of 257.20.
The Bears continue action on Saturday, January 14, when they host Penn at 12:00 noon.
