Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to Princeton, 187-113

PRINCETON, NJ - The Brown women's swimming and diving team (1-2, 1-2) dropped a 187-113 decision to Princeton. The dual meet was part of the Princeton Invitational, which went from December 3-5. In the Invitational results, the Bears came in fourth out of 12 teams, behind Princeton, Rutgers and Washington State.
In the Princeton dual meet results, the Bears won seven of the 12 events, including two relay events. The team of senior Mariana Chuck (Kingston, Jamaica), freshman Alexandra Wyatt (Ypsilanti, MI), junior Elizabeth Wong (Santa Monica, CA), and junior Eileen Robinson (Harbour Grace, NF) won the 400 medley relay (3:53.60), while the team of Wong, junior Ali Will (Mequon, WI), Robinson, and sophomore Becky Kowalsky (Ft. Myers, FL) won the 400 free relay (3:30.24). Individually, junior Jessica Larson (Wayland, MA) won the 1-Meter Diving (261.60), while sophomore Ashley Wallace (Chatham, NJ) won the 200 fly (2:03.90), and senior Jessica Brown (Orange, MA) won the 200 back (2:04.81). Brown also won the 100 back (57.25), while Kowalsky won the 500 free (5:01.74).

In the Invitational results, Kowalsky took seventh in the 200 fly (2:07.41), while Wong took 10th in the 100 fly (58.18). Sophomore Meredith Cocco (Lafayette Hill, PA) took ninth in both the 200 IM (2:08.19) and the 100 fly (58.03), and finished sixth in the 200 fly (2:06.36). Robinson finished in second in the 50 free (23.57) and third in the 100 free (51.33), while junior Bridgette Cahill (Turnersville, NJ) took eighth in the 400 IM (4:32.98). Wyatt took seventh in the 100 breast (1:06.79) and 10th in the 200 breast (2:23.45), while Brown took third in the 100 back (57.25), and fourth in the 200 back (2:04.81). Brush finished in fourth in the 100 back (57.41) and fifth in the 200 back (2:04.97), while Chuck came in ninth in the 100 back (58.00), and eighth in the 200 back (2:06.75). Wallace finished in third in the 200 fly (2:03.90), while junior Katey Mirch (Reno, NV) came in 10th in the 200 fly (2:06.49).
Brown continues action on January 12 when it takes on North Carolina and Bucknell in a 3:00 p.m. meet at UNC.
