Brown Recognizes Swimming & Diving Accomplishments at Annual Banquet

PROVIDENCE, R.I.  – The women's swimming and diving team celebrated their 2010-2011 season with a banquet in which the student-athletes athletes, coaches and special guests honored the teams' hard work and season accomplishments with the presentation of varsity letters and team awards at local restaurant Twist on Angell.  

First year women letter winners included freshman Briana Borgolini, junior Jamie Firth, freshman Paige Gilley, freshman Leigh Holmes, freshman Emma Lamothe, senior Kara Lindquist. Sophomore Kristin Jackson received her second letter while junior Kristen Caldarella and senior Sage Erskine received their third letters. Seniors Natascha Mangan, Candice Sisouvanvieng-Kim and Kelley Wisinger received their fourth letters that are represented by a white letter sweater. 

The Florance Filippo MVP Award was given to Caldarella. The Martha Joukowsky '58 Scholar-Athlete Award was presented to Lindquist and Mangan. 

Borgolini and Lamothe were the recipients of The Dave Roach Coaches Award, while junior Haley Strausser was honored with The Rebecca Moore Service Award. 

Head coach Peter Brown recognized that there were three school records broken during the season as well as many personal best times and scores. He also saluted the seniors and their dedication, perseverance and leadership over the past four years. The announcement of the 2011-2012 Captains will happen in the next few weeks.
