Brown Swimming & Diving Topped at Yale

New Haven, Conn. – A week after its senior day celebration and a week before the Ivy League Championships, the Brown men's & women's swimming & diving team traveled to take on conference-rival Yale. The Bears won several races but were topped on both sides. The women fell 171-129, while the men were downed 171-118. 

The Brown women picked up their first win of the day in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of Kristin Jackson, Briana Borgolini, Emma Lamothe and Kristen Caldarella edged out the Yale team by 0.5 seconds, finishing in 1:46.49.

Catie Pittman was victorious in the 100 backstroke (57.54) while Borgolini and Jackson finished one-two in the 100 breaststroke with times of 1:04.69 and 1:04.85, respectively.

Lamothe was also a two-time winner, taking the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.92. Caldarella also followed suit, taking the 100 free (51.88).

Jackson added to her banner day with the title in the 200 individual medley, finished the race with a time of 2:07.34.

Conor Carlucci picked up the first W of the day on the men's side. The senior took the 100 breast with a time of 58.24. Carlucci was also victorious in the 200 breast touching the wall at 2:05.24.

Mike Johnson was also tops on the podium for the men, taking the 100 butterfly (52.83).

Carlucci kept it going for the Brown men, also winning the 200 IM in 1:52.90, almost five seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

Brown also picked up a relay victory in the 400 free. The team of Timothy Juhn, James Hunter, Tommy Glenn and Oliver Diamond finished in 3:04.99.
