Providence, R.I. – The Brown Bear women's swimming and diving team hosted Harvard and traveled to Boston University this weekend, but were outscored in each event. The Bears fell to the Crimson 198-97 before being downed by the Terriers, 171-129.
Against Harvard, the Bears picked up a win and nine team points as Briana Borgolini was victorious in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:22.25; more than two seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Kelley Wisinger picked up Brown's second win of the day with a time of 2:15.15 in the 200 individual medley. The Bears actually placed one-two-three in the event as Ellen Downing (2:15.93) and Sage Erskine (2:16.99) finished second and third, respectively.
Against Boston University, the Bears picked up a win in the first event of the day in the 200 medley relay. The team of Jackson, Borgolini, Lamothe and Kristen Caldarella finished with a time of 1:46.47.
Caldarella picked up her second win of the day with a first place finish in the 100 free (52.18). Jackson also made it two wins on the day as she finished with a time of 2:07.01 in the 200 individual medley.
Brown's 200 free relay team also picked up a win as the team of Lamothe, Candice Sisouvanvieng-Kim, Caldarella and Katie Pittman finished with a time of 1:36.68.
The Bears return to action of Jan. 29 when the team travels to take on Columbia at Noon.
