Women's Squash Hold End Of Year Banquet

April 29, 2004

Providence, RI - The Brown Womens's squash team held their end of season banquet at the Gatehouse restaurant and enjoyed a pleasant evening reviewing the year on the squash court.

The team saw Lillian Rosenthal '05 receive the Brown Best Howe Cup Record Award, narrowly beating Co-Captain Avery Broadbent's tournament record. Lillian also received the Melucci Morphy award for the MVP of the team. The MIP went to Phoebe Anderson '05 (this is the third time that Phoebe has won this award!).

The Kate Brodsky Award (an award given in the name of Kate Brodsky, who was a leading Freshman Squash player at Brown who came from the Heights Casino in Brooklyn) was awarded to a Heights Casino alum and Co Captain of the Brown team Alicia Ringel '05.

At the Howe Cup in February, Alicia Ringel and Avery Broadbent '05 were recognized as Scholar Athletes and post season awards came to Lillian Rosenthal in the form of Second Team All-American and All-Ivy Team selections.

The team will be led by Captains Julie Flygare, Phoebe Anderson and Lillian Rosenthal for the 2004-2005 season. Next year's team will welcome in the Fall recruits Megan Cerullo, and Minoo Fadaifard.
